Peppa Pig, the beloved character among preschoolers around the world, is set to become a big sister once again. Her mother announced on British national television that Peppa and her younger brother, George, will soon have a new baby sibling to play with.

The exciting news was revealed during a special interview on Thursday’s episode of ITV’s “Good Morning Britain.” Host Richard Arnold introduced Mummy Pig as the “matriarch of an entertainment dynasty,” noting that the Peppa Pig franchise has been a favorite among children and parents for the past 21 years.

While speaking live from “Peppatown,” Mummy Pig – voiced by British actress and comedian Morwenna Banks – was in the middle of sharing exciting news when she was interrupted by Peppa, who rushed into the room after seeing her on TV. Once Peppa realized she was on television, she quickly left, allowing Mummy Pig to announce, “I’m excited to share that our family is getting even bigger because we’re having another baby!”

With a visible baby bump in the frame, Mummy Pig expressed her excitement but also admitted to feeling a bit overwhelmed at the thought of managing three children under 5. She also showed a blurry black-and-white scan photo, revealing that the new baby is expected this summer.

Peppa and George are clearly thrilled about the news. “Every day they ask me how big the baby is, when it’s coming, and whether it likes dinosaurs and muddy puddles – it never ends,” Mummy Pig laughed.

The animated series, which first aired in 2004 on Channel 5 in Britain and debuted in the U.S. the following year, has become a worldwide sensation. Though Mummy Pig might be considered a bit too old to be pregnant again in real life, like many cartoon characters, she remains timeless.

Today, the show is broadcast in 180 countries and dubbed in over 40 languages. It has inspired a vast range of merchandise and even its own theme park, Peppa Pig World, located in Hampshire, England.
