Despite a 44-42 defeat to the Los Angeles Rams, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen achieved a historic milestone. At 28 years old, Allen made NFL history by becoming the first player ever to record three passing touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns in a single game.

Josh Allen threw for 342 yards, including touchdown passes of 41, 51, and 21 yards, while also rushing for 82 yards and three 1-yard touchdown runs. Despite his impressive performance, the Buffalo Bills suffered their first loss in over two months, falling 44-42 to the Los Angeles Rams. Their previous defeat was on October 6 against the Houston Texans.

The seven-year veteran led a thrilling comeback after the Bills trailed 38-21 entering the fourth quarter. Allen used both his arm and legs to bring the Bills within three points, 38-35, with just over eight minutes remaining.

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, who threw for 320 yards, took control in the final moments of the game. With experience in late-game situations, he orchestrated a nearly 7-minute drive, capped off by a 19-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Puka Nacua, which put Los Angeles ahead 44-35 after a missed extra point.

Despite the deficit, Josh Allen and the Bills weren’t ready to give up. Following the Rams’ kickoff, Allen led a rapid 54-second drive that ended with his third rushing touchdown of the game, narrowing the score to 44-42.

However, the Rams recovered the onside kick and ran out the clock, securing their first win over Buffalo since 2012.

Both teams put on an offensive spectacle, combining for 86 points, 902 yards, and 12 touchdowns in the high-scoring game.

After the loss, a visibly disappointed Josh Allen told reporters it was a “total team loss in all three phases,” but he took responsibility, admitting it started with him. “I hate losing,” Allen said. “Whether you lose by two or 100, it’s still a loss. Offensively, we need to find a way to score before the half and after the half. We didn’t do our part.”

Although the Bills didn’t come out on top, Allen’s historic performance likely pleased fantasy football players. His 51.88 fantasy points were the most by a quarterback since at least 1950, according to NFL Fantasy Football.

With the loss, the Bills dropped to 10-3, but they had already secured the AFC East division title following their win over the San Francisco 49ers last week. Next up for the Bills is a matchup with the NFC-leading Detroit Lions in Detroit.
