The Jacksonville Jaguars have narrowed their search for a new general manager to five finalists, including current interim GM Ethan Waugh. In-person interviews will begin on Wednesday, with the expectation that the team will hire a first-time GM to work alongside a coaching staff made up of first-timers: head coach Liam Coen, offensive coordinator Grant Udinski, defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile, and executive vice president Tony Boselli.
The other candidates for the GM position include Ian Cunningham, assistant GM of the Chicago Bears; James Gladstone, director of scouting strategy for the Los Angeles Rams; Jon-Eric Sullivan, vice president of player personnel for the Green Bay Packers; and Josh Williams, director of scouting for the San Francisco 49ers.
Cunningham has been in the NFL since 2008, with previous roles in Baltimore and Philadelphia before joining the Bears in 2022. Gladstone has worked with the Rams since 2016, Sullivan has been with the Packers since 2004, and Williams has been with the 49ers since 2011.
Waugh stepped in as interim GM after Trent Baalke agreed to resign on January 22. Prior to this role, Waugh had spent the past three years as the assistant GM for Jacksonville.
The Jaguars also conducted interviews with six other candidates for their GM position. These include Chad Alexander, assistant GM of the Los Angeles Chargers; Champ Kelly, assistant GM of the Las Vegas Raiders; Jon Robinson, former GM of the Tennessee Titans; Brandon Brown, assistant GM of the New York Giants; Terrance Gray, director of player personnel for the Buffalo Bills; and Trey Brown, senior personnel executive for the Cincinnati Bengals.
