The White House has dismissed at least three staff members from the National Security Council, according to multiple sources familiar with the situation. The firings followed a meeting with Laura Loomer, a far-right activist known for her controversial views, who reportedly urged President Donald Trump to remove several NSC staffers, accusing them of disloyalty.
Among those dismissed were Brian Walsh, a director for intelligence and former staffer for Secretary of State Marco Rubio; Thomas Boodry, a senior director for legislative affairs who previously worked as Waltz’s legislative director in Congress; and David Feith, a senior director overseeing technology and national security, who served in the State Department during Trump’s first term.
Alex Wong, the Principal Deputy National Security Adviser, was not among those fired but has been under scrutiny following Loomer’s criticism of his loyalty to Trump, labeling him a “Never Trumper.” Some officials speculate that National Security Adviser Michael Waltz may have hesitated to terminate Wong due to his involvement in the controversy over leaked Signal messages regarding military strikes in Yemen.
White House officials have not commented on personnel matters. Loomer, who had a private meeting with Trump in the Oval Office, expressed her continued support for his agenda and emphasized the need for strong vetting to protect both the president and national security.
The meeting with Loomer occurred while Trump’s economic team was preparing a tariff announcement, with White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles and presidential personnel head Sergio Gor present, indicating it was an official meeting. Gor has been handling complaints from pro-Trump circles about Waltz.
