President Donald Trump is set to attend the FIFA Club World Cup final on Sunday, giving him an early glimpse of the global soccer spectacle that will return to North America next year.

Trump, joined by First Lady Melania Trump, will travel from his Bedminster, New Jersey golf club to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford — around 40 miles away — to watch the final match of the U.S.-hosted tournament, where Paris Saint-Germain will face off against Chelsea.

This visit also coincides with the one-year anniversary of the assassination attempt on Trump during a campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania. However, the president has no scheduled public events to mark the occasion, apart from a pre-recorded Fox News Channel interview with his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, which aired Saturday evening.

Since taking office earlier this year, Trump has frequently attended high-profile sporting events across the country. Alongside this weekend’s soccer final, he has also made appearances at the Super Bowl in New Orleans, the Daytona 500 in Florida, UFC events in Miami and Newark, and the NCAA wrestling championships in Philadelphia.

Trump maintains a friendly relationship with FIFA President Gianni Infantino and has expressed plans to attend several matches during next year’s World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
