Donald Trump has asked Mike Waltz to serve as his national security adviser.

By US President- elect Donald Trump Rep. Mike Waltz, Republican of Florida, has offered to appoint him as national security adviser for his second term. Waltz is a Trump supporter and former Green Beret military officer. He has served in Afghanistan, the Middle East and Africa. A former Green Beret officer will serve in this position for the first time.

Waltz is expected to tackle a number of key global issues during his tenure, including a review of US policy on a range of issues, including the Ukraine- Russia and Israel- Hamas wars. Waltz, who is tasked with envisioning a new foreign policy based on the Trump administration’s ‘America First’ policy, is expected.
While serving in this position, Trump has had some disagreements in previous terms. John Bolton and retired Lt. Gen. H. R. Some officers, including McMaster, had expressed their bold views. So Trump is now appointing people who are trustworthy with him to important positions.

An officer with a military background like Waltz would fit into this. He has also previously contributed to the Bush administration on foreign policy. It is against this backdrop that Trump’s team should work to determine US policy on China, Iran, and conflicts in the Middle East.

Waltz expressed concern for Afghan citizens. He expressed the anger felt by immigrants waiting to come to America legally. In the discussion with Trump, he proposed that the citizens who fought with the US army from Afghanistan should get a place in America.
The policy will be designed to secure the border areas, with an overall emphasis on security.
