Tesla has announced a recall of more than 2,400 Cybertrucks due to a defective part that could lead to a loss of power to the wheels. This marks the sixth recall for the highly anticipated vehicle in 2024. The recall affects Cybertrucks manufactured between November 6, 2023, and July 30, 2024. Tesla stated in the recall notice that, to date, there have been no reports of accidents, injuries, or fatalities linked to the issue.

This follows a series of other recalls earlier this year. Just last month, Tesla recalled over 27,000 vehicles due to a malfunctioning rearview camera. In June, two separate recalls were issued for problems with windshield wipers and loose trim on the truck bed. Additionally, in April, a recall was issued for a faulty accelerator pedal.

The recall impacts Cybertrucks equipped with metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors in the drive inverter, as stated by Tesla. If the inverter fails, the accelerator pedal may become unresponsive, preventing the vehicle from moving. Tesla added that drivers will receive a warning message on the car’s display when this issue occurs. The company has assured that the faulty part will be replaced free of charge for affected owners.
