On Saturday, a significant outage affected Sony’s PlayStation Network (PSN), leaving thousands of gamers unable to access online services, stores, and multimedia apps.

PlayStation acknowledged the issue on its social media, confirming that some users were facing problems with the network. Complaints about connectivity issues spread rapidly across social platforms, with many gamers reporting error messages and trouble logging in.

One frustrated user from London, named Ramos, vented on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “PSN down on a Friday night is criminal.”

According to the outage tracking site Downdetector, users began reporting problems with PSN late on Friday.

Sony quickly addressed the issue, acknowledging the concerns but did not offer specific details about the cause of the outage.

The company’s website confirmed that there were problems with PlayStation Network services. The PlayStation support page listed affected services, including account management, gaming and social features, PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store, and PlayStation Direct.

This isn’t the first time PSN has experienced significant downtime; the network was also down for several hours last October.
