Russian forces launched a large-scale drone attack on the southeastern Ukrainian city of Dnipro, killing three people, including a child, and injuring dozens, local officials reported on Thursday. The attack, part of a recent wave of Russian strikes targeting civilians, injured 30 people, including five children.

Serhii Lysak, the head of Dnipropetrovsk regional administration, confirmed the casualties and said the drones caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure, including a school, dormitory, gym, and several residential buildings. Fires broke out in multiple locations due to the strikes.

In response to the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged international allies to provide more air defense support. “Every defense package from partners, every form of support for our resilience, is literally saving lives,” Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram. “Russia uses every day and every night to kill.”

Meanwhile, a Ukrainian delegation, including Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, is in Paris for meetings with representatives from France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and other nations. These discussions focus on establishing long-term security measures to deter future Russian aggression once a ceasefire is reached. Yermak, head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, also mentioned upcoming talks with U.S. representatives.

In a separate development, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported shooting down 71 Ukrainian drones overnight across six regions, including 49 in the Kursk region, which borders Ukraine. Additionally, Russian forces launched five missiles and 75 drones at Ukrainian targets, with Ukraine’s air defense forces successfully destroying 25 drones and jamming another 30.
