Russell Wilson has agreed to a one-year contract with the New York Giants, according to a source familiar with the deal. The contract is worth up to $21 million, with $10.5 million guaranteed.

Last week, the Giants also signed veteran quarterback Jameis Winston to a two-year deal and hold the third overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft. The team finished with a 3-14 record in 2024 and released 2019 first-round pick Daniel Jones during the season. Before signing Winston and Wilson, Tommy DeVito was the only quarterback on the Giants’ roster.

The Giants have missed the playoffs in 11 of the last 13 seasons, following Eli Manning’s second Super Bowl victory in 2011. With pressure mounting, general manager Joe Schoen and coach Brian Daboll are expected to perform well, possibly while developing a rookie quarterback.

Shedeur Sanders is a potential pick for the Giants with the No. 3 overall selection. With Wilson and Winston currently ahead of him, Sanders could be gradually transitioned into a starting role for 2026 if New York chooses him.

Wilson, 36, a 10-time Pro Bowl selection, joins his fourth team in five years. He helped guide the Pittsburgh Steelers to the playoffs last season, but the team ended on a five-game losing streak after starting the season 6-1 with Wilson.

Wilson threw for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, five interceptions, and posted a 96.5 passer rating with the Steelers.

In 2023, he passed for 3,070 yards, 26 touchdowns, eight interceptions, and a 98 passer rating with the Broncos, but was let go after two underwhelming seasons in Denver.

Over 10 seasons with Seattle, Wilson averaged 3,706 passing yards, 29 touchdowns, and a 101.8 passer rating. He led the Seahawks to one Super Bowl title and came within a yard of another.

Wilson holds a 121-77-1 record in 199 regular-season starts and a 9-8 playoff record. He has accumulated 46,135 passing yards, 350 touchdowns, 111 interceptions, and a 99.8 career passer rating. Additionally, Wilson has rushed for 5,462 yards and 31 touchdowns.
