Randy Moss, the Pro Football Hall of Famer and ESPN NFL analyst, will be taking a leave of absence from the network due to an undisclosed medical condition, ESPN announced on Friday.

During last week’s “Sunday NFL Countdown” show, Moss, 47, revealed that he is dealing with an internal health issue and requested prayers from viewers. He also mentioned wearing glasses during the broadcast.

Moss shared, “I just ask for all the prayer warriors to put their blessing hands on me and my family through these hard times. People were talking about my eyes last week. I’m battling something, man, and it’s something internal. Your boy is going to get through it. I got a great team of doctors and a great family around me.”

Randy Moss’ eyes appeared yellow, which sparked concern and speculation about his health.

ESPN announced that Moss, a Pro Football Hall of Famer, will be stepping away from “Sunday NFL Countdown” for an extended period to focus on a personal health issue. He briefly addressed the situation during the December 1 broadcast. The network expressed appreciation for Moss’ nearly decade-long contributions, noting his valuable insight and passion. ESPN also stated that they fully support Moss and look forward to his return when he is ready.

Randy Moss has been a part of ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown” since 2016. Prior to his broadcasting career, he played 14 seasons in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, and San Francisco 49ers.

Moss was selected to the Pro Bowl six times and earned first-team All-Pro honors four times. He retired with 982 receptions, 15,292 yards, and 156 touchdowns. In 2018, Moss was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
