Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia names Anna Paulson as president

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia has named Anna Paulson, a senior leader at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, as its next president.

Paulson, 60, will succeed Patrick Harker, who is stepping down on June 30 after completing a decade in the role. In her new position, Paulson will contribute to national interest rate decisions and will hold a voting seat on the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) in 2026. She will also be responsible for overseeing the Philadelphia Fed’s roles in bank supervision and payment systems.

Currently serving as executive vice president and director of research at the Chicago Fed, Paulson has spent over 20 years with the institution. Her work there has primarily centered on financial markets, and she played a key role in launching the Chicago Fed’s Insurance Initiative, which focuses on financial stability and regulatory issues within the insurance sector, according to a statement from the Philadelphia Fed.
