Almost every bracket has been ruined.
As of Friday’s first round of the NCAA Tournament, only 81 perfect brackets remained out of 34 million, according to the NCAA. That’s a mere 0.0000002%, for those keeping count.
ESPN’s tracker reported just 121 perfect brackets left — down from 1,098 earlier in the day — out of 24 million.
Yahoo Sports had only 30 perfect brackets left out of 32, and CBS Sports saw a similar drop, with 0.0008% of brackets still unblemished by the end of Friday.
One major upset came when Clemson, which was predicted to advance by more than 85% of Yahoo users, lost 69-67 to McNeese. This loss knocked out over 6.6 million ESPN brackets.
Creighton was another bracket buster, defeating Louisville 89-75 on Thursday and eliminating 13,339,089 brackets.
On the flip side, ESPN reported that 30 of its brackets were completely wrong — with every single pick being a loser, a rare and almost impossible outcome, even if someone intentionally chose all the losing teams.
