Not all Oasis fans were thrilled when Liam Gallagher gave a shoutout to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola during the band’s much-anticipated homecoming concert.

As the group performed “D’You Know What I Mean?” at Heaton Park on Friday night, Liam dedicated the song to “the greatest manager of all time, the one and only Pep Guardiola,” who was present in the crowd. His words were met with a mix of reactions — including a few boos from the audience.

In response, Noel Gallagher chimed in with, “Who you booing?”

The concert marked Oasis’s first performance in Manchester in 16 years, part of their reunion tour that kicked off recently in Cardiff, Wales. Both Liam and Noel, who were raised in Manchester, have been long-standing supporters of Manchester City and have frequently been spotted at matches over the years, particularly during Guardiola’s successful reign, which includes six Premier League titles and several other trophies.

While Guardiola did receive some applause, the scattered boos were likely from Manchester United supporters in attendance. However, the City manager seemed unbothered and happily joined more than 70,000 fans in singing along to the iconic “Don’t Look Back in Anger.”

The show was the first of five sold-out performances at Heaton Park, marking a powerful return for the legendary Britpop band.
