Paige Bueckers is ready to transition from college basketball to the WNBA. The talented UConn star is widely expected to be selected as the No. 1 overall pick by the Dallas Wings during the league’s annual draft, which will take place on Monday night at The Shed in New York.

Bueckers won’t be alone in the spotlight, as the WNBA will also see its first expansion team in 17 years. The Golden State Valkyries, who are making their debut, will pick at No. 5 overall.

The first round of the draft will feature 12 selections, while each of the final two rounds will have 13 picks. After Dallas, the Seattle Storm will have the second overall pick, followed by the Washington Mystics, who will have the third, fourth, and sixth picks due to their new coach and general manager.

Six teams, including New York, Indiana, Minnesota, Phoenix, and Atlanta, won’t have first-round picks, as they traded them away. Las Vegas, after a 2023 league investigation into violations of player benefit and workplace policies, has forfeited its pick.
