The Pac-12 Conference announced a media rights deal with CBS on Monday that will feature at least four football and men’s basketball games each season on CBS’s main network, along with a cable and streaming presence for the league’s revamped format starting in 2026.

While financial terms were not revealed, Conference Commissioner Teresa Gould described the partnership as “transformational,” highlighting its role in supporting the Pac-12’s growth as it relaunches in the 2026-27 season.

The conference nearly dissolved in 2023 after most of its members left for other conferences such as the Big 12, Atlantic Coast, and Big Ten, with only Oregon State and Washington State remaining.

Currently, these two teams have agreements to air their football games on platforms including The CW, ESPN, and CBS for the upcoming season.

The new deal with CBS, identified as the Pac-12’s primary long-term media partner, will take effect when Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Utah State, and San Diego State join the conference across all sports. Gonzaga will also join but will not participate in football.

To meet the minimum requirement of eight football teams necessary for inclusion in the Football Bowl Subdivision and the College Football Playoff, the Pac-12 is expected to add another football program, with Texas State emerging as a likely candidate.

Under the CBS agreement, the network will broadcast a minimum of three regular-season football and men’s basketball games each year, as well as the championship games for both sports. Additionally, the Pac-12 will maintain a steady regular-season presence on the cable-based CBS Sports Network.

Negotiations continue as the conference’s media advisor, Octagon, seeks to secure further media partnerships to complement the CBS deal.
