The Minnesota Vikings are making NFL history in 2025 with back-to-back international games in Ireland and the United Kingdom as part of the league’s record-setting lineup of seven overseas matchups.
The Vikings will face the Pittsburgh Steelers at Dublin’s Croke Park on September 28, marking Ireland’s first-ever NFL regular season game. A week later, on October 5, they’ll head to London to play the Cleveland Browns at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Vikings owner Mark Wilf expressed enthusiasm about the international spotlight: “Our experiences in London have always been memorable, so returning in 2025 as the first team to play consecutive international games in different countries was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up.”
Minnesota boasts an undefeated 8-0 record in international games, including 4-0 in regular season play. Interestingly, the Vikings haven’t played in Cleveland since 2009 and won’t be back there until 2033 due to this neutral-site matchup.
The NFL unveiled these games as part of a broader preview of marquee matchups ahead of the full schedule reveal on Wednesday. That night will also feature the announcement of the Los Angeles Chargers’ opponent for their game in São Paulo, Brazil, on September 5 at Corinthians Stadium — the league’s first regular season game in South America.
That Brazilian clash will stream globally for free on YouTube and YouTube TV, marking the platform’s debut as an NFL broadcaster. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and YouTube’s Chief Business Officer Mary Ellen Coe will announce the matchup at YouTube’s Brandcast event in New York.
YouTube and the NFL have also extended their partnership for the annual Super Bowl flag football game featuring creators and celebrities, following a successful debut that drew over 6 million live viewers.
Other 2025 international matchups include:
-
Oct. 12: Denver Broncos vs. New York Jets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (London)
-
Oct. 19: Los Angeles Rams vs. Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium (London)
-
Nov. 9: Atlanta Falcons vs. Indianapolis Colts at Olympic Stadium (Berlin)
-
Nov. 16: Washington Commanders vs. Miami Dolphins at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium (Madrid)
The Jaguars’ London game will be their 14th, continuing their long-standing international presence. In total, the NFL has staged 39 regular season games in the UK.
All six newly revealed international games will be aired on NFL Network and streamed on NFL+.
The Colts-Falcons game marks the fifth NFL regular season game played in Germany, with previous contests hosted in Munich and Frankfurt.
Peter O’Reilly, the NFL’s executive vice president of club business and league events, highlighted the league’s vision: “This historic slate of international games reflects our continued commitment to growing the game globally.”
Additionally, the NFL announced on Good Morning America that the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles will visit the Green Bay Packers for a Monday Night Football game on November 10. That game is expected to spotlight the controversial “tush push” quarterback sneak tactic, which Green Bay has asked the league to ban. The matter is up for discussion at next week’s NFL spring meetings.
