Meta Plans to Launch AR Headset in the Next Two Years

Meta is planning to launch its AR headset in the next two years. According to recent reports, this headset will be the company’s first true AR headset. It will be part of Meta’s wearable product series, although no official announcement has been made yet. In this article, we provide detailed information about Meta’s upcoming AR headset.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has shared information about Meta’s upcoming tech products. According to sources, Meta is working on three new smart glasses and has a roadmap to launch true augmented reality glasses. Additionally, Meta is working on integrating AI-based tools into wearables and hearables such as smartwatches, smart bands, and earbuds.

Meta plans to launch Ray-Ban Meta Glasses 2.0 in collaboration with Ray-Ban at the beginning of 2024. According to the report, the existing model will be introduced to new markets, and a new model will also be announced, although the launch date is not yet clear. Gurman claims that Meta plans to launch its true AR headset in early 2027, which is codenamed Orion.

The company may soon partner with other brands like the Luxottica Group. Additionally, there are rumors of an upgrade to the Ray-Ban x Meta Glasses partnership, with the potential release of Supernova 2. Another AR headset, internally known as Hypernova, could cost over $1,000 (approximately ₹86,424) due to its advanced features.
