Lady Gaga announces March release for new album ‘Mayhem’

Lady Gaga is gearing up to release her seventh studio album, Mayhem, on March 7. This new 14-track project is set to delve into themes of chaos and transformation. It comes after her 2024 album Harlequin, which served as a companion piece to the film Joker: Folie à Deux and peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard 200.

Two singles from Mayhem have already made an impact. “Disease” reached No. 27 on the Billboard Hot 100, and “Die With a Smile,” a collaboration with Bruno Mars, topped the charts for three weeks.

Gaga shared in an interview that she feels clearer and more focused than ever, calling this period of her life the most centered she’s felt in a decade. She believes that being in a positive, healthy place allows her creativity to truly flourish.

According to the announcement, Mayhem is set to reinvent Lady Gaga’s early sound, bringing a vibrant and multifaceted style. The album pulls from her broad musical influences while also embracing a bold and daring new artistic direction.

Lady Gaga will premiere the third single and music video from Mayhem this Sunday, with the debut happening during a commercial break at the Grammy Awards.

Additionally, she’s set to join artists like Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Stevie Nicks, and Joni Mitchell at the FireAid benefit on Thursday, which aims to support those affected by the recent wildfires in Los Angeles.
