King Charles and Queen Camilla have selected a photo of themselves in the Buckingham Palace garden for their official Christmas card. The photo, taken in April, features the smiling couple standing together on a sunny day. Inside the card, they extend their wishes with the message, “Wishing you a very happy Christmas and New Year.”

In the photo, the King, positioned on the left, is dressed in a grey suit and blue tie with his right hand in his pocket, while the Queen is wearing a blue wool crepe dress. This marks their third Christmas card since Charles ascended the throne.

The photo, taken by photographer Millie Pilkington, was captured as King Charles returned to public duties after his cancer diagnosis and treatment. The palace mentioned that the image symbolizes a time when life was starting to return to normal.

This year’s card features a more casual photo compared to last year’s official Christmas card, which was taken by Hugo Burnand. In that image, the royal couple was photographed in the Throne Room at Buckingham Palace following the coronation, with King Charles wearing the Imperial State Crown and Queen Camilla wearing Queen Mary’s Crown.

The Royal Family regularly releases Christmas images for their official festive cards, and this year, Charles and Camilla will sign around 2,700 cards, which will be sent to family, friends, world leaders, and various organizations worldwide.
