Kendrick Lamar and SZA, fresh off their high-profile Super Bowl halftime performance, are expanding their upcoming tour to include more dates in Europe.
On Monday, they announced additional stops, including a performance in Frankfurt, Germany, on July 4. The pair will kick off their Grand National Tour in Minneapolis on April 19 and wrap up the North American leg in Washington on June 18. They will then head to Europe for a 13-stop tour, starting on July 2 in Cologne, Germany, and concluding on August 9 in Stockholm.
Lamar made history with his halftime show as the first solo hip-hop artist to headline the Super Bowl. The performance was filled with patriotic imagery, featuring dancers in red, white, and blue. Samuel L. Jackson, playing Uncle Sam, helped guide the performance. Jackson’s remarks, which included calling parts of the show “too loud, too reckless, too ghetto” and urging Lamar to “play the game,” were part of the artist’s intention to tell a story through the performance, reflecting the layered themes often present in Lamar’s music.
In addition to Frankfurt, the European leg will include stops in cities like Amsterdam, Paris, London, Rome, and Barcelona.
Presale tickets will be available starting Wednesday, with general ticket sales opening on Friday. Fans can find more information on the official tour website.
