Tributes have been paid to Hudson Meek, a 16-year-old actor known for his role in Baby Driver, who tragically died after falling from a moving vehicle in Alabama. Meek, who also appeared in the NBC drama Found and worked on video game and commercial voice-overs, passed away on December 21, two days after the accident, which occurred in Vestavia Hills, a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. He suffered blunt force trauma in the fall.

Meek’s mother, Lani Wells Meek, shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, saying, “His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.” She asked for prayers as the family coped with the sudden loss.

Meek was a second-year student at Vestavia Hills High School. His obituary noted that he was an organ donor, which brought some comfort to his family, knowing he would continue to help others. Described as confident, witty, and passionate about his beliefs, Meek loved playing football, spending time outdoors, and had visited all 50 US states.

Acting Out Academy, a performing arts school in Vestavia Hills, expressed their sadness, calling Meek one of their “first and brightest stars,” and paid tribute to him with a message that he would “shine forever.” The Vestavia Hills Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances of the incident.
