St. Louis Blues forward Dylan Holloway left the team’s 5-4 overtime win against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night due to a lower-body injury.
Blues head coach Jim Montgomery didn’t provide any details about the injury after the game, saying, “We’ll have more, I’m sure, tomorrow.”
The team announced Holloway’s injury during the first intermission, confirming that he would not return to the game. It’s unclear exactly when he sustained the injury.
Holloway had eight shifts in the first period before exiting.
This season, Holloway has been a key contributor to the Blues’ impressive 11-game winning streak, which ties a franchise record. He’s recorded 26 goals and 37 assists in 77 games.
“He’s obviously an elite player for us, someone who plays in all situations, and a really important piece to our team,” said forward Jake Neighbours. “It sucked losing Dylan, and we just hope he’s okay.”
