Fiorentina secured a much-needed 1-0 win against struggling Lecce in Serie A on Friday, snapping a three-game winless streak.

The only goal of the match came early in the first half when German defender Robin Gosens scored with a powerful header in the 9th minute, following a well-placed cross from Brazilian right-back Dodô.

Fiorentina had a chance to seal the win in the 73rd minute when Lucas Beltrán was awarded a penalty for a handball in the box. However, his effort hit the post. Beltrán also struck the woodwork again in the dying moments of the match.

With the victory, Fiorentina climbed to sixth place in the standings, while Lecce stayed in 16th, just four points above the relegation zone, having gone winless in their last four matches.
