Christian Pulisic, the United States midfielder, is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks due to a right calf injury sustained while playing for AC Milan. Pulisic was forced to leave the field during the first half of Milan’s 2-1 defeat to Atalanta on Friday and is set to undergo an MRI on Monday.
As a result of the injury, Pulisic is likely to miss Milan’s upcoming Champions League match against Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday, as well as Serie A fixtures against Genoa and Hellas Verona.
Pulisic has been one of Milan’s standout performers this season, contributing five goals and four assists in Serie A, along with three goals in the Champions League.
The U.S. national team’s next official match is scheduled for March, when they will face Panama in the CONCACAF Nations League semifinals.
