The couple, who were on a global motorcycle tour, last posted in early January. In a statement released by the UK’s Foreign Office, the family addressed the situation, stating their concern over the couple’s detention in Kerman, Iran.
The statement emphasized that the unexpected events have deeply troubled the family, and their primary focus is on ensuring the safety and well-being of Craig and Lindsay during this difficult time.
The family also mentioned they are actively working with the British government and other authorities to navigate the situation, with a united determination to secure the couple’s safe return. They expressed gratitude for the support they have received from friends, family, and the community, which has been a source of strength during this challenging ordeal.
Hugo Shorter, the British Ambassador to Iran, met with two British nationals on Wednesday at the office of the Public Prosecutor in Kerman, the capital of the Kerman province, as reported by Iran’s state-run IRNA news.
IRNA stated that further details about their case would be shared later, according to the Kerman Public Prosecutor. The news agency also released a photo of the meeting featuring the UK ambassador but did not disclose the identities of the two individuals or show their faces.
In her last Instagram post on January 2, Lindsay Foreman shared a message reflecting on her global journey, saying, “Travel has a way of reminding you of what really matters. On this journey around the world, we’ve felt a deep sense of connection – and nowhere more so than here in Iran.” She also added, “Despite differences in culture, language, and traditions, we’ve seen something beautifully universal: kindness, humor, hospitality – and a shared love of good food!”
