New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel acknowledged a circulating video that appears to show wide receiver Stefon Diggs handing a bag of pink crystals to a group of women on a boat. However, Vrabel chose not to confirm whether he has spoken to Diggs about the matter.
“Any discussions I’ve had with Stefon will stay between him, me, and the team,” Vrabel said ahead of a voluntary practice session, which Diggs did not attend.
Vrabel further emphasized the team’s stance on off-field behavior: “We’re aware of it. Obviously, our focus is on making responsible decisions on and off the field. That message applies to every player.”
The NFL declined to comment on the situation. Diggs’ representatives have also not publicly addressed the video.
The footage in question shows Diggs aboard a boat with three women, holding and appearing to pass a small bag of unidentified pink crystals. While the substance hasn’t been identified, it has sparked speculation online. Other clips from what seems to be the same boat outing include Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B, who has been spotted with Diggs several times this offseason. They were seen together at the Met Gala and courtside at an NBA playoff game between the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks.
Cardi B, known for tracks like “Bodak Yellow” and “WAP,” filed for divorce from rapper Offset last year. Her appearance with Diggs has fueled rumors about a possible relationship.
Diggs, 31, signed a three-year, $69 million deal with New England this offseason, including $26 million in guaranteed money. Before that, he had a successful run with the Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills, posting six consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons. After being traded to the Houston Texans, Diggs managed 47 receptions for 496 yards and three touchdowns in just eight games before tearing his ACL in October.
If fully recovered, Diggs is expected to become a key weapon for rookie quarterback Drake Maye as Vrabel — now in his first year coaching the Patriots — aims to turn around the franchise following two disappointing seasons under Bill Belichick and Jerod Mayo.
