American singer Chris Brown has been granted bail by a London court following a charge related to a serious assault, allowing him to proceed with his upcoming world tour set to begin next month.

The charge involves an alleged incident in which Brown, 36, is accused of attacking music producer Abraham Diaw with a tequila bottle during an unprovoked altercation at a London nightclub in 2023. The incident reportedly caused grievous bodily harm.

Brown has not yet entered a plea and was not present during the hearing at Southwark Crown Court. Judge Tony Baumgartner approved bail under strict conditions.

Best known for chart-topping tracks like Loyal, Run It, and Under the Influence, the two-time Grammy-winning R&B artist is scheduled to launch his “Breezy Bowl XX” tour on June 8 in the Netherlands.

He was taken into custody at a Manchester hotel last week, marking his first return to the UK since the nightclub incident. Authorities initially denied him bail last Friday.

However, on Wednesday, bail was approved with terms including a £4 million (approximately $5.4 million) payment upfront, and an additional £1 million due within seven days. He must also surrender his passport, except when traveling for tour-related purposes.
