Pakistani drones were reported at 26 locations along both the International Border and the Line of Control with Pakistan, stretching from Baramulla in the north to Bhuj in the south, according to officials on Friday.
The drone activities included armed UAVs that posed potential risks to both civilian and military targets. Areas targeted by the drones included Baramulla, Srinagar, Avantipora, Nagrota, Jammu, Ferozpur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Lalgarh Jatta, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bhuj, Kuarbet, and Lakhi Nala.
In one incident, an armed drone struck a residential area in Ferozpur, injuring several members of a family. The injured individuals received medical treatment, and security forces have since sanitized the area.
The Indian Armed Forces are maintaining a heightened state of alert, tracking and engaging these aerial threats using counter-drone systems. The situation is being monitored closely, and prompt actions are being taken when necessary.
Authorities have advised citizens, particularly those in border regions, to stay indoors, avoid unnecessary movement, and follow safety instructions issued by local authorities. While there is no immediate need for panic, increased vigilance and precaution are urged.
