South Carolina guard MiLaysia Fulwiley has officially entered the transfer portal, according to sources familiar with the situation. The announcement has not been made public yet, and the source requested anonymity.
Fulwiley, a 5-foot-10 sophomore, is listed with a “do not contact” designation, indicating that she likely already knows where she intends to transfer. She was named the Southeastern Conference Sixth Player of the Year and played a key role in helping the Gamecocks reach the national championship game, where they were defeated by UConn. During her two years at South Carolina, she averaged 11.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists.
Despite starting only three of her 77 games at South Carolina, Fulwiley became one of the most exciting players in college basketball, known for her viral offensive plays.
South Carolina has already made a move in the transfer market, adding Ta’Niya Latson, who led the nation in scoring last season.
The transfer portal opened on March 25 and will close on April 22. Players can still withdraw from the portal and return to their original team after the deadline.
