Staff at an Italian restaurant were pleasantly surprised when award-winning actor Stephen Graham stopped by for a meal. Known for his role as Hayden Stagg in Peaky Blinders, Graham visited Mr NessuNo in Goole before filming scenes for the upcoming film Immortal Man at the nearby docks.

Jess Hasanaj, one of the staff members, noticed a man who appeared to be a bouncer taking a menu to a “blacked out SUV.” It soon clicked for her that he was likely part of the film crew. When she met Graham, she described him as “a really nice guy” who was very down-to-earth, adding that he seemed just like any ordinary person from Goole.

Ms. Hasanaj mentioned that Mr. Graham signed an autograph for the chef, who prepared seafood linguini for him, and even posed for photos with the staff and other diners.

When asked about their feelings on serving the actor, she said the team felt “really honoured,” noting, “we’re a small restaurant in a small town.”

She added that while Mr. Graham couldn’t reveal much about the production, he did mention he was “filming the new Peaky Blinders movie here” and expressed his reluctance about having to jump into the docks at 1:30 in the morning.

For weeks, rumors have been swirling in the town about the production being filmed at the docks, especially after residents received letters warning them about pyrotechnics and loud noises scheduled for October 25 and 26.

The letter from Oblik Productions described the project as “a feature film set for release in 2025,” but the company declined to provide any further details.

On Friday evening, as filming commenced, crowds gathered on Bridge Street in Goole, where special effects were visible and audible across the docks.

Humberside Police reassured the public, stating: “Please do not be alarmed if you see or hear anything related to the use of pyrotechnics during filming. Police and fire services are fully aware.”
