Wrexham is on the verge of securing a third consecutive promotion, moving closer to a spot in the Championship, the second tier of English football. In front of celebrity co-owner Ryan Reynolds at the Racecourse Ground, Wrexham triumphed over Burton Albion with a commanding 3-0 victory, scoring all three goals within a 16-minute burst in the second half.

Adding to the excitement, Wrexham benefited from a 1-0 defeat suffered by third-placed Wycombe at Reading, which took place simultaneously. This result puts Wrexham six points ahead of Wycombe, who still has a game in hand.

Rob McElhenney, Wrexham’s other U.S.-based co-owner, shared his excitement on social media, calling it “so, so worth getting up early today.”

With only five matches remaining in the season, Wrexham is firmly positioned for promotion. The team’s rapid rise has been remarkable, moving up from the fifth-tier National League just two years ago, fueled by investments from its high-profile owners.

Notably, star player Paul Mullin was once again left out of the squad by manager Phil Parkinson, despite his key role in previous promotion efforts.
