Kultida Woods, the mother of golf legend Tiger Woods, passed away on Tuesday, as confirmed by the 15-time major winner. Tiger did not disclose the cause of her death.

In a tribute on X, Tiger shared, “My mom was a force of nature all her own, her spirit was simply undeniable. She was quick with the needle and a laugh.” He expressed his deep gratitude, calling her his “biggest fan” and “greatest supporter,” and credited her as an essential part of his personal achievements. He also mentioned that she was dearly loved, especially by her grandchildren, Sam and Charlie.

Tiger Woods thanked his supporters for their prayers and asked for privacy during this challenging time for his family. He ended his message with a heartfelt, “Love you, Mom.”

Kultida Woods, originally from Thailand, was a constant presence in her son’s life. She was seen cheering Tiger Woods last month during his participation in a Tomorrow’s Golf League (TGL) match at the SoFi Center in Florida, where a broadcast showed her joyfully applauding after Tiger sank an important putt.

Kultida Woods stood by her son during one of the most difficult moments of his life, when Tiger Woods held a globally broadcasted press conference in 2010 to admit to multiple extramarital affairs. During the emotional confession, Kultida Woods was seated in the front row, with Tiger acknowledging that his actions were “not acceptable” and that he had strayed from the core values his parents had taught him.

Tiger Woods once shared how his mother played a significant role in his choice of attire for golf tournaments, particularly the iconic red and black outfit he wore on the final day of competition. According to Tiger, his mother, a Capricorn, believed that red was his “power color.” Tiger humorously recalled, “I ended up wearing red and winning tournaments,” adding that when he wore blue to defy her, he didn’t win. He admitted, “Mom is always right.”

Tiger’s father, Earl Woods, passed away in 2006.
