King Charles is set to appear in a new documentary for Amazon Prime Video, with filming already underway. The project will focus on his environmental charity work both in the UK and internationally.

A long-time advocate for nature and sustainability, the King explored these themes in his 2010 book Harmony: A New Way of Looking At Our World.

A Buckingham Palace source shared that the King is eager to see how the ideas from his book will be presented to wider audiences.

The Royal Family’s decision to collaborate with US media giant Amazon represents a shift, as they have traditionally partnered with British networks for major on-screen projects. The exception to this is the Sussexes, who have a multi-million pound deal with Netflix, a competing streaming platform.

Prince Harry and Meghan featured in the 2022 Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, which covered their relationship and their choice to step down as senior royals. They were also executive producers for a recent documentary on Polo, and Meghan is set to release a new lifestyle show on the platform. With Love, Meghan will debut in March, after being delayed due to the Los Angeles wildfires.

Filming for King Charles’ documentary is currently underway at Dumfries House in Scotland.

According to The Times, which was the first to report the story, several platforms were considered before Amazon was chosen for the documentary. The film is expected to be released either at the end of this year or in early 2026.

As Prince of Wales, Charles dedicated many years to advocating for environmental causes, holding meetings to encourage action. His 2010 book, co-written with Tony Juniper and Ian Skelly, called for a major shift in how society interacts with nature.

Though as King he must remain politically neutral, he continues to champion climate action. In December 2023, at the COP28 climate summit in Dubai, he warned that humanity’s survival is at risk unless we restore harmony with the natural world.

A Buckingham Palace insider noted how impressive it is to see how many of the ideas from his book have been implemented in the 15 years since its publication, and how they have been embraced in various forms. The documentary will demonstrate how these concepts are transforming people, places, and the planet, with Dumfries House serving as a key “living laboratory” for these pioneering efforts.
