A town in Poland is extending an invitation to Elon Musk, encouraging him to purchase its large 13th-century castle and use it as his European headquarters. Piotr Bujak, the mayor of Glogowek, shared on Tuesday that he had posted this invitation on Musk’s social media platform X and also sent letters to Musk’s companies, urging him to buy the castle. No specific price has been mentioned, and Musk has yet to respond to the offer.

Bujak told The Associated Press that he had seen media reports suggesting Musk might be looking for a significant location, possibly a castle in Italy, to establish a hub for his European operations. The Glogowek castle, located in southwestern Poland, has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. It even briefly served as the capital of Poland in the 17th century and has hosted the composer Ludwig van Beethoven, who composed music there.

“The castle has a wonderful atmosphere and is an ideal place for great projects,” Bujak told the Associated Press. The region is known for its long-standing tradition of winemaking.

“We don’t feel inferior to Tuscany. We have the perfect climate, and this is the best place on Earth,” Bujak added. Glogowek’s beautiful location is conveniently close to several European capitals, including Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Bratislava, and Warsaw. The site also has space for a helicopter landing pad.

While the castle requires extensive renovation and needs a private investor, it offers expansive areas suitable for both residential and business use. The castle is owned by the town.
