A grand new cableway has opened in the Bernese Alps in Switzerland. The Schilthorn Cableway is claimed to be the highest and steepest climbing cableway in the world. This cableway takes you to a height of 775 meters (2543 ft) in just four minutes, at a gradient of 159.4%. It connects to a revolving restaurant at top Schilthorn Mountain, made famous by the James Bond film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”.

Although this cableway has not yet made it to the Guinness World Records, Switzerland is the leader in altitude records.

In 2017, the steepest funicular railway in the world was opened in the village of Stoos. It rises to a height of 743 meters (2438 ft) and reaches a gradient of 110%.

Also, a special feature of the Stanserhorn Cabrio cable car in Lucerne is its open terrace. This experience in the hilly area is definitely exciting.
