Beyoncé has earned her first-ever country music award, winning the title of Top Country Female Artist at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards. This recognition comes after the release of her eighth studio album, Cowboy Carter. In addition to her country award, Beyoncé was also nominated for Top Dance/Electronic Artist and Top Country Album. With this latest win, Beyoncé now has a total of 17 Billboard Music Awards throughout her career.
Before the ceremony, country singer Zach Bryan and pop icon Taylor Swift led the nominations with 18 and 16 respectively. The eligibility period for the awards was from October 28, 2023, to October 19, 2024, as reflected in Billboard’s year-end charts.
Beyoncé, the most awarded artist in Grammy history with 32 wins, has recently earned the title of most-nominated artist for the 2025 Grammy Awards, receiving 11 nominations for her genre-blending album. Among these nominations are her first-ever in the country and American roots categories. She is up for Best Country Album, Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “II Most Wanted” featuring Miley Cyrus, Best Country Song for “Texas Hold ‘Em,” Best Country Solo Performance for “16 Carriages,” and Best Americana Performance for “Ya Ya.”
Beyoncé is also nominated for the evening’s top honor, Album of the Year, at the 2025 Grammy Awards. Her collaboration with Post Malone, “Levii’s Jeans,” earned a nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
However, just days before receiving the most Grammy nominations, Beyoncé was overlooked at the Country Music Association Awards, where she did not receive any nominations for the same album. Beyoncé’s lack of recognition at the CMA Awards sparked backlash from fans, who questioned why her album wasn’t acknowledged at the prestigious country music event. Several country music stars also defended her, expressing support in response to the snub.
Prior to this, Beyoncé earned the most nominations at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards, receiving 12 nods. However, she did not take home any awards from the ceremony.
