Bank of America did not provide details on the cause of the problem and it is unclear when full functionality will be restored. Several employees with Bank of America accounts reported being unable to log in during the afternoon hours. A customer received a message that the current balance “may be temporarily unavailable” for one or more accounts.

Bank of America confirmed that “some clients are experiencing problems accessing their account and balance information today.” The bank assured customers that these issues are being resolved.

Users expressed frustration as many did not see their account balances in the app, while others reported that their accounts had $0 balance. One person commented on Downdetector, “The app is not working and online banking is showing yesterday’s balance.” Another user noted, “Both app and browser access is still partially closed. I can see some accounts, but not all, and the transfer function doesn’t work for any accounts,” while a third noted that he couldn’t log in, but his wife could and her accounts didn’t show any balances. A fourth user jokingly commented, “My debt is fine though.”
