A tropical storm was active Monday in the western Atlantic Ocean, but meteorologists expect it to steer clear of the U.S. coastline and pass north of Bermuda.
Named Dexter, this is the fourth storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season. It formed late Sunday and moved northeastward on Monday, with sustained winds reaching 45 mph (72 kph), according to the National Hurricane Center based in Miami.
At the time of the update, Dexter was positioned roughly 250 miles (400 kilometers) northwest of Bermuda. No warnings or watches were issued for coastal areas. Forecasters predict the storm may gain some strength over the next several days.
