A massive 26-meter (85-foot) Lego figure named Dada greeted guests at the grand opening of the first-ever Legoland resort in China, located in Shanghai. The resort officially opened its doors on Saturday and has quickly become a major attraction for families and Lego fans.

This Shanghai Legoland is one of only 11 Legoland theme parks worldwide and was constructed using an impressive 85 million Lego bricks. One of the main highlights of the park is Miniland, a display that recreates famous global landmarks entirely out of Lego. It features detailed models of iconic Chinese locations such as Beijing’s Temple of Heaven and Shanghai’s Bund waterfront. Visitors can also enjoy a boat ride through a Lego version of a traditional Chinese water town, offering a fun mix of culture and creativity.

“I feel like I’ve stepped into a Lego fairyland,” said Ji Yujia, a Lego enthusiast who attended on opening day.

The resort is a collaborative project between the Shanghai government, Merlin Entertainments, and the LEGO Group. The opening day celebration included live performances by beloved Legoland characters, adding to the excitement and festive atmosphere.

Ticket prices for Legoland Shanghai range from 319 yuan (approximately $44) to 599 yuan (around $84), depending on the day and package.
